В микросхеме есть защита от короткого замыкания (лимит тока 8 А), защита от перегрева — автоматическое отключение выхода при превышении рабочей температуры. Защита по входу от переполюсовки нет, но можно подключить по входу диод или диодный мост.
Благодаря регулируемому току этот модуль (драйвер) можно использовать для зарядки литий-ионных аккумуляторов, питания светодиодных лент, блок питания с стабилизацией тока и так далее.

Принципиальная схема модуля XL4015
Ниже приведена принципиальная схема преобразователя — модуля на базе XL4005, а не XL4015. В плане выходного тока и КПД XL4005 и XL4015 идентичны. Основное различие в рабочей частоте (300кГц. для XL4005 и 180кГц. для XL4015), что позволяет использовать для XL4005 дроссель меньшей индуктивности (читай меньшего размера), и в небольшой разнице максимального входного напряжения (32В. для XL4005 и 36В. для XL4015).
Ещё XL4005 отличается более низким опорным напряжением (0,8В. вместо 1,25В. у XL4015), что делает её более предпочтительной для использования в схемах стабилизатора тока (драйвера для мощных светодиодов например).
На сдвоенном операционном усилителе LM358 собрана схема регулируемого токоограничения и компаратор для индикации окончания заряда. В качестве датчика тока применён шунт на базе резистора SMD 2512 0,05Ом. Резистор припаян с обратной стороны модуля.
Отдельно стоящий красный светодиод (R) показывает работу в режиме ограничения тока. Синий светодиод (B) показывает режим заряда аккумулятора (ток больше 10% от уставки), зелёный (или красный) рядом с ним (G) — режим окончания заряда (уменьшение тока до 10% от уставки).

Для подсоединения питания и нагрузки есть 4 зажима на винтах и/или места для пайки.
Напряжение подается на контакты модуля +IN, –IN (плюс и минус соответственно), а выходное напряжение снимается с выходных контактов +OUT и -OUT.

Я точно не скажу, но мне кажется, что на данной плате этот конденсатор можно паять, на входе есть два отверстия под него. Почему он не идёт с завода — я не знаю.
Я знаю. Точнее догадываюсь. Это унифицированная плата — она и для XL4005 разводилась. А на 4005-ой 4-я нога управляет включением чипа. На плате нераспаян «выключатель». Но он — для 4005. А для 4015 там ДОЛЖЕН быть конденсатор для внутреннего ИОН. По даташиту. 1мкФ. Почему не напаяли — либо сэкономили, либо он на эти площадки тупо не попадает при пайке — поленились переразводить.
1 мкф нужно впаять, китайцы сэкономили просто. Не знаю, сильно ли его отсутствие влияет на работу…
ПС: 1 мкф впаять не в отверстия для выключения, а по схеме из даташита.
